DUBLIN – West Bladen’s right-handed duo of Scott Bowen and Trent West limited Lumberton to just one run over ten innings as the Knights swept a Dixie Pre-Majors Baseball double-header from the Pirates Thursday night by scores of 4-1 and 2-0.
Bowen hammered a 2-run double to lead the Knight hitters in the first game, and Trent West added an infield hit.
“Scott pitched well and was able to work out of a couple of situations,” said Knight Coach Kim Cain.
Trent West blanked the Pirates in the second game, and Jarrett Williams knocked in both of the West Bladen runs.
“Trent wasn’t as sharp early,” said Coach Cain. “But he really got loosened up in about the third inning and really blew it by them the last 2 innings. “
The Knights improved to 5-4-1 with the two victories and will travel to East Bladen Monday for a 6 p.m. game.
