West Columbus edged East Bladen 5-4 Tuesday night in Dixie Pre-Majors Baseball action.
The Eagles plated a run in the first inning as Sincere Smith led off with a single, advanced on a Devan Stocks sacrifice and raced home when Kyle Tatum cracked a single.
East Bladen added two runs in the third inning. Josh McKoy was hit by a pitch and Smith smashed a double that sent McKoy to third base. Stocks knocked in both runners with a single.
The final Eagle run came in the sixth inning. Kyle Tatum connected for a one-out single, stole second and third bases, then darted home when Xavier Wooten delivered a run-scoring single.
Smith batted 2-3 with a double and 2 runs scored for East Bladen. Tatum also finished 2-3 at the plate with a run batted in and a run scored.
Stocks, Wooten, Alex Coates and Ty Watkins added one hit each for the Eagles. Stocks drove in 2 runs and Wooten had one rbi.
Coates pitched 2 innings for East Bladen and allowed one hit and two runs. Wooten pitched 4 innings and struck out 5 batters while giving up 4 hits and 3 runs.
The Eagles are now 4-3 on the season.
