LUMBERTON – The first weekend of the Dixie Youth Baseball World Series ended Tuesday, but the World Series resumes Friday with the opening ceremonies for the Class AAA (Minors), Majors and Ozone World Series.

Louisiana defeated Alabama to win the Coach-Pitch World Series, and Florida won the Machine Pitch World Series with a victory over South Carolina in the championship game.

Games begin Saturday at 3:30 for the Class AAA (Minors), Majors and Ozone World Series at Northeast Park in the Raymond B. Pennington Athletic Complex that is located at 900 Meadow Road.

Opening Ceremonies will be held Friday night at 7:30 at the Lumberton High School Football Field.

Sunday’s World Series games begin at 3:30, and start times for Monday through Wednesday games will be 5:45 each day. Thursday’s championship games in all three World Series are slated for 10:30 a.m.

Daily admission for the World Series is $10 with a World Series pass being sold for $25. Children 12-and-under will be admitted free.
