Saturday the weather turned cooler, but the royal court and elected officials still made a special appearance to help celebrate one local store.

The weather in 2018 caused the Dollar General to close. Hurricane Florence hit the town of Bladenboro with flooding.  The storm caused several businesses to close down.

Debbie Edwards with Boost the Boro, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to helping small businesses in Bladenboro grow and prosper, announced the Dollar General’s Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting.

The Dollar General Manager, Yuvonne Christian invited vendors to set up booths and encouraged local beauty queens to attend the event.  Mayor Rufus Duckworth assisted in the festivities with the ribbon cutting.
