Saturday the weather turned cooler, but the royal court and elected officials still made a special appearance to help celebrate one local store.

The weather in 2018 caused the Dollar General to close. Hurricane Florence hit the town of Bladenboro with flooding.  The storm caused several businesses to close down.

Debbie Edwards with Boost the Boro, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to helping small businesses in Bladenboro grow and prosper, announced the Dollar General’s Grand Re-Opening and Ribbon Cutting.

The Dollar General Manager, Yuvonne Christian invited vendors to set up booths and encouraged local beauty queens to attend the event.  Mayor Rufus Duckworth assisted in the festivities with the ribbon cutting.

Hannah Wheeless, NCQOH Grand Majestic, and Taylor Wheeless, Greater Miss Carolina Sweetheart, Junior Miss, Greater Miss Carolina Sweetheart Little Miss, Hayleigh Simmons, and Greater Miss Carolina Sweet  Heart Royal Majestic, Madyson Bass helped at the Grand Re-Opening by passing out free gift bags to customers.
