DublinBoyScout (1)The Dublin Boy Scout Troop 622 received a donation of $200 on Thursday from the Dublin Peanut Festival Committee. The donation will be used to help send member of the Boy Scout troop to summer camp, according to Tony Parnell who serves as assistant Scout master.

Parnell said that the Troop is gearing up for a barbecue plate sale to raise money for the summer camp trip and to put a new roof on the Dublin Scout Hut. The plate sale will take place on Saturday, April 30, from 10:30 a.m until 2:30 p.m. at the Dublin Scout Hut located on 4th Street in Dublin. Plates cost $7 each and will consist of barbecue, potatoes, green beans, bread, and tea.

Parnell also said that Troop 622 also recently traveled to a camporee in Whiteville where the Troop brought home the Presidential banner.
