Dublin Issues Boil Water Advisory Following Water Main Break

The Town of Dublin has issued a boil water advisory for all water used for human consumption following a water main break Thursday. The advisory includes all water coming from the tap that will be used for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth, making ice and washing hands.

All water should be vigorously boiled for at least one minute prior to usage. The boiling should kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present in the water.

The advisory remains in effect until further notice.

Water customers served by the Town of Dublin Water System have experienced periods of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to the water main break. Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.
