A Dublin man has been charged with murder after another man was found dead Tuesday night inside a house on Albert Street, according to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.

Michael Jason Bullock, 35, (pictured above) has been charged with murder and is being held in the Bladen County Detention Center. The victim, who was 66 years old, has not been publicly identified pending notification of next of kin, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Bladen County’s 911 center received a call at approximately 7:52 p.m. of a domestic violence situation at 6802 Albert Street in Dublin. A short time later another called was received saying that a man may be dying at that residence, a news release said.

In a voice recording to 911, Bullock is heard telling the operator, “I was there with my kid and I had someone staying there, and he was there talking about hurting my youngin’ and stuff, and oh no, that ain’t going to happen.” Bullock reported to the operator that he was at the Dollar General in Dublin.

Sheriff’s deputies arrived at the residence and saw blood spatter on a bedroom window. The deputies entered the residence through an unsecured door and found a man in a bedroom who was deceased.

Bullock was detained a short time later at the Dollar General store in Dublin, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Both Bullock and the deceased man lived at the residence, the Sheriff’s Office said.

An autopsy of the victim is expected to be conducted at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Raleigh within the next few days, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is continuing.

Bullock is retained at the Bladen County Detention Center with out bond at this time. More information will be provided as soon as it is made available.
