Some students in Bladen County Schools will have a brighter Christmas thanks to the generosity of Duke Energy employees.

The Duke Energy Fleet Maintenance arrived at the Bladen County Schools Central Office on Thursday with precious cargo—20 bicycles.  According to reports, there were ten black bicycles and ten pink bicycles that were sent home with 20 Bladen County students.

According to reports, the students receiving the bicycles were chosen by Bladen County Schools social Worker Marian Coe.

Duke Energy Representative Debbie Hogg said that Bladen County was chosen due to the fact there are not as many resources available as larger counties in the state.

Duke Energy Fleet Maintenance has plans to donate 33 bicycles throughout the state, according to reports.
