ELIZABETHTOWN – East Bladen exploded for nine first inning runs en route to a 15-7 Three Rivers Conference jayvee baseball victory over West Bladen Tuesday.

Jay McKoy beat out an infield hit to begin the Eagle first, and Tyler Hill raked a single to leftfield. Dylan Fine slammed a double to left that scored Jay McKoy and Hill. Freshman Raymond Autry and Brandon Fine drew walks, and sophmore Jacob Priest knocked in Dylan Fine and Autry with a double.

Greyson Clark smacked a single to centerfield that scored Brandon Fine. Freshman Chase Starkloff yanked a single to left that scored Sherman Monroe, the courtesy runner for Priest. Clark stole home, and Jay McKoy was hit by a pitch. Hill belted a single to right that scored Starkloff and Jay McKoy and pushed the Eagle lead to 9-0.

The Knights rallied with 6 runs in the third inning. Freshmen Tucker Carroll and Alex Brisson drew walks, and Alex Strange reached base on an error as Carroll scored. Sophmore Samuel West drilled a single to left that scored Carroll. Sophmore Andrew Pait lined a single to left.

An error on Kendall Johnson’s fly ball scored Strange and West. Freshman Brycen Blackmon walked, and freshman Bryley Williams ripped a single to centerfield that scored Pait and Johnson.

Jay McKoy reached base on an error, and Hill walked to start the Eagle third inning. Dylan Fine hammered a double to left that scored Jay McKoy and Hill. Autry walked, and Dylan Fine scored on a passed ball. Autry stole third base and scored on an error. Brandon Fine smashed a double to left, and Priest lashed a single to center that scored Brandon Fine and stretched the Eagle lead to 14-6.

Strange walked, and West cracked a single to start the Knight fourth inning. Strange scored the final Knight run on an error.

Dylan Fine raced all the way to third base on an error in the Eagle fourth and scored on Rasean McKoy’s sacrifice fly.

Dylan Fine batted 3-4 with 2 doubles, 3 runs batted in and 3 runs scored to lead the Eagle hitters. Brandon Fine doubled twice and scored twice. Greyson Clark batted 2-2 with a triple, an rbi and a run scored. Hill finished 2-3 at the plate with 2 rbi’s and 2 runs scored.

Priest batted 2-4 with a double and 3 rbi’s. Starkloff and Jay McKoy added one hit each. Rasean McKoy and Starkloff had one rbi each. Jay McKoy scored 3 runs, Autry scored 2 runs and Starkloff and Monroe scored one run each.

West batted 2-3 with an rbi and a run scored to lead the Knight hitters. Williams, Pait, Johnson and Josh Russ connected for one hit each. Williams and Pait drove in 2 runs each, and Strange scored 2 runs. Brisson, Pait, Johnson and Carroll scored one run each.

Priest pitched all 5 innings for the Eagles and allowed 7 runs –  2 earned – on 6 hits and 3 walks while striking out six.

Russ pitched 1.1 innings for the Knights and allowed 9 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks while striking out two. Williams worked one inning of relief and allowed 5 runs on 3 hits and 4 walks while striking out two. Brisson pitched the final 1.2 innings and allowed an unearned run on a walk while striking out two.

East Bladen will travel to Whiteville Friday, while West Bladen will host Fairmont.
