East Bladen’s Eagles bombed the nets with nine 3-point goals and raced to a 75-53 non-conference boys basketball victory at East Columbus Friday night.

Senior Jermaine Robinson drilled a 3-point shot in the opening period as the Eagles jumped out in front 14-6.

Junior Denzel Johnson bombed in a pair of 3-point shots in the second quarter, and junior Ethan Hines nailed another 3-point shot. Junior Eian Hines dropped in a pair of baskets in the period as the Eagles stretched their lead to 39-26 at halftime.

Johnson delivered two more 3-point baskets in the third quarter and totaled 10 points in the period as the East Bladen lead grew to 55-39.

The long-range barrage continued in the final quarter as freshman Adonis Avery drained a pair of 3-point shots and racked up 8 points in the period. Ethan Hines connected on another 3-point shot and had 5 points in the quarter.

Johnson topped the East Bladen scoring with 16 points and four 3-point baskets. Ethan Hines followed with 14 points and a pair of 3-point baskets. Eian Hines finished with 12 points for the winners.

Avery added 10 points for East Bladen and connected on a pair of 3-point shots. Robinson scored 9 first-half points, but left the game with an injury. Robinson threw in the first Eagle 3-pointer in the opening period.

Shaheed Bellamy took game scoring honors with 17 points for East Columbus.

East Bladen improved to 2-5 with the victory and will play Southern Lee Monday at 4 p.m. in the Woodmen Life Christmas Tournament at West Bladen.
