East Bladen’s Second Round Boys Soccer Playoff Game was postponed Friday and rescheduled for Saturday at 5 p.m. The Eagles were actually en route to the game and had reached the other side of Jacksonville when they were notified of high winds at Kill Devil Hills.
Eagle Coach Jay Raynor said, “First Flight’s athletic director called and said the weather had begun deteriorating at a substantial rate, and they were having 35-40 mph wind gusts. He said we could come and attempt to get the game in, but we decided along with Coach (Patty) Evers that it was in our best interest to turn around and try again tomorrow. It wasn’t safe to have the kids on the bus in that type of weather.”
