Coach Grant Pait presented the baseball awards for his Three Rivers Conference champions and Class 2A Eastern Runners-up Eagles Wednesday night. The award winners follow:
Most Improved: Drew Sholar “Drew batted .313 on the season and made some big plays on defense,”said Coach Pait.
Coaches Award: Brady Hollingsworth “Brady batted .311. Brady caught and played first base. He was a coach on the field,” said Coach Pait.
Defensive Award: Lefredrick Wooten “Lefredrick played almost every position for the Eagles this season,” said Coach Pait. “We could put him anywhere, and he would get it done.”
Offensive Award: Jacob Priest “Jacob led the Eagles with a .389 batting average,” said Coach Pait. “He was always calm and excelled when runners were in scoring position.”
Most Valuable PLayer: Zach Meares “Zach batted .373 for the season and had a pitching record of 8 wins and 0 losses,” said Coach Pait. “He pitched in 44 innings, struck 79 batters out, and had an 0.15 ERA.”
Russell Priest Award: Evan Pait “Evan was a sophomore who batted .317 for the Varsity Eagles,” said Coach Pait. “This young man worked hard on and off the field this year. This award carries a scholarship towards a baseball camp.”
Lacy West Award: Britt Sasser “Britt played on the JV Eagles this season where he pitched and played third base,” said Coach Pait. “He is a hard worker. This award carries a scholarship towards a baseball camp.”
