ELIZABETHTOWN – A battle of perennial girls basketball powers Clinton and East Bladen tipped off the 2019 East Bladen Basketball Jamboree on Tuesday at East Bladen.
Coach Patty Evers’ Lady Eagles (27-2 record in 2019) played Clinton (22-7). Other teams participating in the scrimmage with last season’s records in parenthesis included: West Bladen (15-11), Lumberton (20-7), North Brunswick (8-16) and South Brunswick (4-17).
West Bladen played North Brunswick, Clinton and Soutn Brunswick in scrimmages that consisted of two 18-minute halves with running clock that only stopped for time-outs.
East Bladen also scrimmaged Lumberton and South Brunswick.
