WHITEVILLE – East Bladen’s boys track team finished second in a 5-team Three Rivers Conference meet at Whiteville Thursday. The Lady Eagle girls took third-place in their meet.

Whiteville took first place in both the girls and boys meets. Red Springs finished in third-place behind the Eagles in the boys meet followed by East Columbus and South Columbus.

South Columbus finished second ahead of the East Bladen girls, followed by East Columbus and Red Springs.

East Bladen boys winners included the 4×200 and 4×800 meter relay teams; senior Keymon Cromartie in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 18.5 seconds; senior Alfred Wynn in the 400 meters with a time of 55.5 seconds and A. J. Smith in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:42.

The East Bladen girls 4×800 and 4×400 meter relay teams won their events.

Claiming second-place finishes for the Lady Eagles were: Makia Johnson in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.2 seconds; Aniyah Jackson in the 400 meters with a time of 1 minute, 15 seconds; Lakendra Jones in the discus with a throw of 63 feet and the 4×200 meter relay team.

The Eagle boys had three second-place finishes: Cromartie in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.5 seconds, A. J. Smith in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:37 and Tyron Smith in the shot put with a heave of 36 feet, 6 inches.

Third-place finishers for the Eagle boys were: senior Trevares Carter in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.1 seconds and in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.2 seconds; senior Bernard Robinson in the shot put with a toss of 35 feet, 8 inches and the 4×100 meter relay team.

Posting third-place finishes for the Eagle girls were: senior ShaHyra Hogan in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 59.2 seconds, Jones in the 800 meter run with a time of 4 minutes, 7 seconds and Johnson in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.5 seconds.

Scoring points with fourth-place finishes for the girls were: Jones in the shot put with a heave of 25 feet, 9 inches; T. Autrey in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.7 seconds and the 4×100 meter relay team. Tatianna McElveen was fifth in the discus with a throw of 58 feet, 3 inches.

East Bladen’s Olranda McCurison was fourth in the boys 400 meter dash with a time of 59.4 seconds.

The Eagles will travel to West Columbus Thursday at 4 p.m. for their next meet.
