
East Bladen High School’s varsity football game at East Columbus that had been rescheduled for Thursday has been postponed until Monday at 7 p.m., it was announced Thursday afternoon.
West Bladen High School announced Thursday afternoon that its non-conference varsity football game against American Leadership Academy-Johnston that had been rescheduled for Thursday night has been canceled because of the potential for heavy rain.
Also, Bladen County Schools have canceled all after-school activities for Thursday and Friday and the school system will have a remote learning day Friday.
East Bladen and East Columbus lost Waccamaw Conference openers last Friday. The Eagles, 1-4 overall, fell 25-22 to South Columbus on a field goal on the final play of the game. Pender defeated the Gators 73-6. East Columbus is 0-4 overall.
West Bladen, 1-3, is coming off a 26-19 win against East Columbus on Sept. 12. With Thursday’s cancellation, the Knights will open Southeastern Conference play at St. Pauls on Oct. 4.
