East Bladen Girls, West Bladen Boys Shut Down by COVID

Both East Bladen’s girls and West Bladen’s boys have had their basketball seasons interrupted by the coronavirus.

Seven of the Lady Eagles were exposed to a non-basketball individual that tested positive for COVID-19. Three team members and Coach Patty Evers were not exposed.

The Lady Eagles who sport a 2-0 record will return to action on Saturday, January 23rd when they open Three Rivers Conference play at Whiteville. The jayvee boys game will begin at 12:30 followed by varsity girls and boys.

West Bladen’s boys played East Columbus Friday night and East Columbus has had a positive test, therefore the Knights and Gators are both quarantined for 2 weeks.

West Bladen’s girls will host West Columbus Tuesday at 4:30 and will travel to Red Springs Wednesday. Their game at East Bladen next week is postponed. The Lady Knights will travel to Fairmont on January 22nd for their conference opener.

East Bladen’s boys and JV boys games with South Columbus Tuesday will be played and will begin at 3 p.m. Their games Friday against East Columbus are cancelled and Tuesday against West Bladen may be rescheduled.
