East Bladen Athletics Director and Coach, Patty Evers, along with the NCHSAA encouraged a “Be the Light Campaign,” in honor of the East Bladen High School Seniors Spring Athletes. Thursday evening, all the fields were lit up at the high school. Seniors and their families were allowed to drive around the campus.

Coach Evers said, “We are going to miss our seniors!” The spring athletic coaches were stationed at their fields to cheer on the senior Eagles and their families.

Photographer Kenneth Armstrong was at the event capturing the event in photos. Visit his website: kenarmphoto.com to view photos of Bladen County athletes.

Principal, Dr. Jason Wray, and Assistant Principal, Heather Thompson, were on-site with smiles and well wishes, along with several other teachers, guidance counselors, and Bladen County Board of Education members.

At 8:20 an airplane piloted by Brian Campbell, the father of EBHS Senior, Cybil Campbell, whizzed by with loops to help get the festivities started. Elizabethtown Fire Department made the entrance of the parade around the fields grand by hoisting an American flag high in the sky with two apparatus ladders.

Ms. Anita Wellington, Ms. Cheryl West, lined the parking lot with signs congratulating each EBHS senior. Watch a video of the event now on our YouTube Channel.
