East Bladen’s Eagles will travel to Franklinton High School Friday to compete in the NCHSAA Class 2A Mid-East Regionals.Coach Cedric Mathis’ Eagles will carry four relay teams, a pair of long jumpers and two more field athletes to the regional meet.
The Hines brothers, Ethan and Eian, who competed in the state meet last year have both qualified for the long jump competition.
The Hines brothers will also compete in the 4×100 and 4×200 relays along with teammates Trevares Carter and Josh McKoy. Also competing in the boys’ field events will be Zach Johnson in the discus and Atlas Goss in the shot put.
East Bladen will also carry girls’ relay teams to the regional to run in the 4×100 and 4×200 events. The same four girls compete on both teams and include Tatyiana Graham, Danika Spaulding, Michelle Page and Kaytlyn Goss.
