East Bladen’s Eagles kick-off the third annual 2017 Battle of Carolinas Football Jamboree Thursday at 5 p.m. against Latta, SC at Lumberton’s Alton G. Brooks Stadium.

Coach Robby Priest’s Eagles played Latta 2 years ago in the Battle of the Carolinas and led 7-0 until the Vikings scored a touchdown and 2-point conversion in the final minute.

Coach Brandon Iseman’s Vikings posted an 8-4 record last season as quarterback Dylan Brewer threw for 2,345 yards and 18 touchdowns. Other key returnees include leading receiver Kendall Moultrie, running back Jamarcus Leggette and linebacker Mikey Dotson.

East Bladen lost leading rusher Ethan Hines, 1913 yards and 24 touchdowns, to graduation. However, Xavier Wooten who rushed for 1,008 yards and 11 touchdowns returns for his senior season along with quarterback Quinton Bedsole.

Other match-ups of note in the jamboree are defending South Carolina Class A state champion Lake View vs. Fairmont at 6 p.m. and the 8 p.m. battle of perennial powers Scotland and Dillon, SC.

8 p.m. Scotland (14-1) vs. Dillon, SC (13-2)
9 p.m. Lumberton (4-7) vs. Marlboro County, SC (5-6)
