East Bladen finished third and West Bladen placed fourth in Thursday’s track and field meet at Pender High School.

Boys Meet

Pender won the boys meet with 94 points, Midway was second with 88 points followed by East Bladen with 48 points and West Bladen with 24.

East Bladen’s Ethan Hines won the long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 9.5 inches. His twin brother, Eian Hines, took second with a jump of 20 feet, 3.75 inches.

Eagle teammate Trinas McDowell was third with a mark of 18 feet, 6 inches. West Bladen’s Dayvon Swindell captured 2 points with a fourth-place jump of 17 feet, 4.5 inches. Swindell was also fourth in the triple jump with a distance of 33 feet, 1.5 inches.

The Eagles finished one-two in the shot put as Atlas Goss took first place with a toss of 41 feet, 3.5 inches and teammate Derrick Burney was second with a heave of 41 feet, 3 inches.

Dequan Lennon won the 100 meter dash for West Bladen with a time of 11.4 seconds. East Bladen’s Josh McKoy was third with a time of 11.6 seconds.

West Bladen’s Christian Gathings was second in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 48.3 seconds. Teammate Justin Best captured a point with a fifth-place finish in 48.8 seconds.

In the boys 200 meter dash, West Bladen senior Malique McDowell finished third with a time of 23.9 seconds. East Bladen’s Trevares Carter was fifth with a time of 24.3 seconds.

East Bladen’s Trinas McDowell captured third place in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 8 inches. Teammate Malik Hogan finished fifth with a jump of 5 feet, 2 inches.

In the discus, East Bladen’s Zachary Johnson took third place with a throw of 101 feet, 1 inch. West Bladen’s Trequan Horne finished fifth with a toss of 97 feet.

East Bladen senior Trevor Lloyd was fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 55.6 seconds. Teammate Jesus Ramos finished fourth in the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 37 seconds.

The West Bladen 4×200 meter relay team of Masai Carroway, B.J. Drake, Malique McDowell and Dayvon Swindell finished third in 1 minute, 41 seconds.

The Knights 4×400 meter relay team of Ashton Lyons, Dayvon Swindell, Justin Best and Frederick Walters also took third place with a time of 4 minutes, 9 seconds.

East Bladen’s 4×100 meter relay team won their event in 44.6 seconds, and the Eagles 4×800 meter relay team finished third in 11 minutes and 48 seconds.

Girls Meet

In the girls meet, Pender was first with 151 points followed by Midway with 47 points, East Bladen with 39 and West Bladen with 9 points.

East Bladen’s Tatyiana Graham finished second in the 200 meter dash in 28.9 seconds and was also third in the 400 meters with a time of 1 minute, 20 seconds. Another Lady Eagle, M. Magsby, was fourth in the 400 in 1 minute, 27 seconds.

Graham also claimed second place in the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.4 seconds. Teammate Michelle Page was fourth in 14.1 seconds. West Bladen’s Odera Weaks took third in the 100 with a time of 14.1 seconds.

West Bladen’s Bailey Bullard took second place in the 400 meters with a time of 1 minute, 15 seconds.

The Lady Eagles took third and fourth place in the shot put. Imari Beatty was third with a toss of 24 feet, 3 inches, and Autumn Lockamy was fourth with a heave of 24 feet even.

East Bladen’s Katlyn Goss took third place in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 1 minute and 3 seconds. Goss was also third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 20 seconds. Teammate ShaHyra Hogan was right behind her in fourth in the 100 with a time of 23.06 seconds.

Marley Ketterer gave East Bladen a fifth-place finish in the 1600 meters with a time of 7 minutes, 33 seconds.

The East Bladen 4×100 girls relay team finished in second place with a time of 55.33 seconds. The Eagles 4×800 girls relay team took third place in 13 minutes, 41 seconds, and East Bladen’s 4×200 girls relay team placed second with a time of 1 minute, 59 seconds.

West Bladen’s 4×400 girls relay team of Ashley Hickman, Bailey Bullard, Mikayla Winebarger and Kayla Hunt claimed a third place finish with a time of 5 minutes and 32 seconds.
