East Bladen was seeded No. 15 in 1A East and will host No. 18 Southeast Halifax on Friday in the opening round of the N.C. High School Athletic Association football playoffs.
The Eagles, 4-6 overall, finished fourth in the Waccamaw 1A/2A Conference, splitting six conference games.
Southeast Halifax was fifth in the nine-team Tar Roanoke 1A Conference with a 4-4 record. The Trojans are 4-6 overall and won three of their final four games. Interestingly, Southeastern Halifax won only one of six home games, but are 3-1 away from home.
East Bladen lost four of its first five games, including a conference-opening 25-22 setback at South Columbus on a last-second field goal. The Eagles have won two of their last three games.
The winner of the East Bladen-Southeast Halifax game will play at No. 2 seed North Duplin in the second round.
