East Bladen/ West Bladen Baseball Cancelled

The East Bladen at West Bladen baseball game that was scheduled for Friday night was cancelled due to wet field at West Bladen. The game will not be made up.

Coach Grant Pait’s Eagles finish the regular season 6-1 in Three Rivers Conference play and 9-4 overall. East Bladen will receive the league’s No. 1 Class 2A playoff bid when the NCHSAA state playoff brackets are released Sunday afternoon.

East Columbus defeated West Columbus 20-3 Friday night to tie East Bladen for 1st place with a 6-1 league record. East Columbus will receive the TRC’s No. 1 Class 1A playoff spot. The Eagles and Gators will be declared Three Rivers Co-Champions per TRC President Russell Dove who consulted with Que Tucker of the NCHSAA. East Bladen defeated the Gators 3-1 in their conference head-to-head meeting.

West Bladen won their last 2 games of the season to post a 3-4 league record and 4-8 overall mark. Whiteville finished with a 6-2 conference record to secure the league’s No. 2 playoff berth.

With Friday’s rainout, Coach Kenzil McCall’s unbeaten Eagle jayvees completed their season with a perfect 11-0 record.
