BURLINGTON – East Bladen’s Jackson Bostic & Will Hester won their quarterfinal doubles match Saturday at the NCHSAA Class 2A Men’s Tennis MidEast Regionals at Bill Cooke Park to advance to Monday’s regional semifinals and also, with the victory, earn a berth in next week’s Class 2A State Tournament.
Bostic & Hester defeated the Roanoke Rapids team of Paulo Pampilo and Alexander Thompson 6-2, 6-2 Saturday.
The top 4 finishers in regional play automatically qualify for the Class 2A State Tournament that begins Friday in Cary, so reaching the semifinals assures Bostic & Hester of a state berth.
Monday’s semifinal match is scheduled to start at 1:30 p.m.
