East Bladen senior Caleb Strait was named Sunday to the North Carolina team for the 81st Annual Battle of the Carolinas Shrine Bowl game.

The 6-3 270-pound Strait is a two-way performer for the Eagles and was selected to the team as an offensive guard. Strait will join East Bladen Coach Robby Priest on the North Carolina squad.

With Strait anchoring the offensive line, the Eagles have racked up 287 yards rushing and almost 30 points per game en route to a 6-1 record this season. Strait who also plays defensive line is second on the East Bladen team in tackles.

Other area selections include: Javonte Williams (Wallace-Rose Hill), Mike Edwards (South View), Dante Miller (Richmond County), Jahmir Smith (Lee County), Javon Ratliffe (Scotland) and Tyler Smith (Scotland).

The game will be played on December 16 at Joe Gibbs Stadium in Spartanburg, SC.
