East Bladen’s Caleb Strait, left, Wallace-Rose HIll’s Javonte Williams

SPARTANBURG, SC – East Bladen senior Caleb Strait started at offensive right guard Saturday for the winning North Carolina team that defeated South Carolina 55-24 in the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas. It was the third straight year that North Carolina has defeated South Carolina.

“Caleb started and played a lot,” said East Bladen Coach Robby Priest. “They rotated guys in and out, but I would say he played three/fourths of the game.”

Coach Priest was selected to be an assistant coach for this year’s North Carolina team and fulfilled those duties until he underwent surgery on Dec. 5th.

One of the players that Priest lobbied to have placed on the team was Wallace-Rose Hill running back Javonte Williams. Williams rushed for 90 yards on 12 carries and caught 2 passes for 37 yards.
