EastpointBeulaville, NC–Eastpointe MCO has brought together a variety of community partners to sponsor the First Annual Eastern Area Rally for Recovery, to be held Saturday, September 26, 2015, from 10 am until 1pm, at the First United Methodist Church, 100 Green St. NE, Wilson, NC.  Collaborative partners joining Eastpointe in this venture are the Wilson Substance Abuse Coalition, Historic Wilson Downtown Development Corporation, Wilson Medical Center, Carolina Outreach, Wilson Police Department, Faith Connections, Wilson DSS, NC Parent Resource Center, and East Carolina University (ECU) Recovery College.

Ken Jones, Eastpointe CEO, states that, “The event is open to the public, and all are enthusiastically invited to attend. Eastpointe extends a special invitation to the citizens of the 12 counties served by Eastpointe, which include Bladen, Columbus, Duplin, Edgecombe, Greene, Lenoir, Nash, Robeson, Sampson, Scotland, Wayne, and the event’s host county, Wilson.” Eastpointe Medical Director, Dr. Venkata Jonnalagadda states, “ This event is being held to raise the profile of Recovery, and to demonstrate to our friends, neighbors, communities, policy makers, and the media, that people can and do recover from alcohol and other drug problems, and that when we get well, it benefits our families, communities, and nation.”

The First Annual Eastern Rally for Recovery will feature a viewing of ‘The Anonymous People’, a feature documentary film about the over 23 million Americans living in long-term recovery from addiction to alcohol and other drugs. The event will also feature a Walk of Support and Hope for Recovery, and will provide an abundance of helpful resource information. Food, music, fun, and inspiration will be in abundant supply.
