The Elizabethtown Alcoholic Beverage Commission was one of the top stores in terms of profit for the fiscal year 2016-17. According to the North Carolina ABC Commission financial statement for the period of July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 the Elizabethtown ABC store was one of the top profit stores in southeastern North Carolina.

The Southport store in Brunswick County sold $2,452,623 of products with a profit margin of 10.30%. Elizabethtown ABC came in second with $1,349,638 sold and a profit margin of 9.50%.

Other stores in southeastern North Carolina were: Shallotte $1,699,624 sold, profit of 9.22%. Wallace $1,491,826 sold, profit of 8.64%. Tabor City $784,559 sold, profit of 7.04%. Pembroke $1,165,790 sold, profit of 6.52%. Whiteville $1,159,270 sold, profit of 6.05%. St. Pauls $1,268,545 sold, profit of 5.93%. Fairmont $680,711 sold, profit of 4.67%.  Roseboro $898,120 sold, profit of 4.09%. Rowland $244,667 sold, profit of 2.35%. Newton Grove $477,242 sold, profit of 2.27%. Red Springs $713,844 sold, profit of 0.93%. Maxton $760,427 sold, profit of 0.82%. Lake Waccamaw, $410,063 sold, profit of 0.13%.
