The Elizabethtown Chamber of Commerce gathered for a memorable September meeting at the historic Elizabethtown Inn, where members connected over a delicious breakfast provided by Christine Marais. The chamber expressed deep gratitude for her hospitality and the exceptional meal. A special mention was made to Steven Robert, who captivated attendees with his presentation on the First in Freedom Festival plans, set to mark America’s 250th anniversary in grand style.
In addition to this successful meeting, the Chamber is promoting an exciting series of events for the upcoming Columbus Day weekend, encouraging everyone to “Visit Mother Nature’s Playground.” Here’s what’s in store:
Friday, October 11
• Cycle NC Mountain to Sea Bike Tour (12 PM – 5 PM): Watch as cyclists from across the state come into town on their journey from the mountains to the coast.
• Pink Out with the Pink Slips Concert (6 PM – 9 PM): Enjoy a free live concert at Cape Fear Farmers Market, where the community comes together in support of breast cancer awareness.
Saturday, October 12
• Made in the Shade Car Show (8 AM – 3 PM): Check out classic and custom cars on display at San Jose Restaurant.
• North Carolina Grape Festival (10 AM – 3 PM): Head to Lu Mil Vineyard for a day of fun, wine tastings, and festivities celebrating local grape culture.
Sunday, October 13
• The Smithfield Cup BBQ Festival (12 PM – 5 PM): Wrap up the weekend at Cape Fear Distillery for the Smithfield Cup, a North Carolina vs. South Carolina BBQ competition, sure to thrill barbecue lovers from all over.
