Full Job Description
ECA After School Teachers must be passionate about teaching children, engaging with children, and
helping them progress. Group childcare and/or classroom management experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities of the job include:
● Responsible for the safety of students; supervises all activities to ensure safety at all times.
● Facilitates scheduled program activities to keep students engaged
● Practices structured and positive classroom management
● Helps with the general housekeeping tasks
● Maintains a professional attitude towards fellow ECA employees and school employees, at all
times
● Treats all children with dignity and respect
● Attends all staff meetings and recommended training programs
● Helps to maintain a neat and organized classroom
● Reports to the Director with any problem which may occur with the children
● Performs additional program duties as assigned by the Director according to the program needs
● Participates in dismissal procedures at the end of after care, ensuring that each child leaves with
the appropriate adult
● Works with other staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere
● Must be willing to be background checked and TB tested
● Must hold or be willing to obtain current certifications in CPR and First Aid
