Elizabethtown Town Council has scheduled a public hearing Monday during its regularly scheduled monthly meeting on a proposed development of a light industrial park catering to a controlled environment agriculture that will include an 80-acre greenhouse.
The meeting is set begin at 7 p.m. at Town Hall located at 805 West Broad Street. The meeting is open to the public.
The development also will include a supporting light industrial area and supporting residential area.for fresh produce, supporting light industrial area at 3307 NC 87 West. The proposal is being made by MainSyde & Huntley Farms and L. Huntley.
In other business, the board is:
• Expected to approve the Live Work Play contract with FirstFloor Energy Positive and request a reallocation of $100,000 for the Master Plan and Survey phase of the project. The project is designed to promote economic development, job growth and workforce housing.
• Provide direction to N.C. Department of Transportation for placement of lights on the new Cape Fear River bridge.
