Town Of ElizabethtownThe Elizabethtown Town Council will meet on Monday night and is set to deal with a busy agenda.

The town has two public hearings scheduled. The first public hearing to be conducted will to receive public comments on the proposed 2018-19 budget. The second public hearing to be conducted will be to receive public comment on a proposed Local Government Commission Interim Financing Application for the Phase II Downtown Revitalization project.

Following the public hearings, the Council will decide on the following action items:

*The Council will be asked to consider approving a resolution recognizing the Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy for winning the National Pershing Rifle Competition.

*Consider approving the proposed 2018-19 budget.

*Consider approving the Local Government Commission Interim Financing Application for the Phase II Downtown Revitalization project.

*Consider approving the establishment of a financial policy for commitment of unassigned fund balance.

*The Council is asked to consider establishing a goal for the participation of minority business in building/construction contracts for Phase II Downtown Revitalization project.

*The board will be asked to adopt a resolution of support for Recreational Trails Program Grant application for Tory Hole Park.

In other business, the Council will be asked to consider approving interim financing bid with United Community Bank, Inc. for the Phase II Downtown Revitalization Project, approve grant agreements with NC DOT for the Ben Greene Industrial Drive Extension and Aviation Parkway Extension, approve an engineering services contract and a professional services contract with W. K. Dickson for Phase II Downtown Revitalization.

The board will also be asked to consider approving a change order for the airport taxiway and make appointments to the ABC Board, Airport Commission and Housing Authority.
