Town Of ElizabethtownThe Elizabethtown Town Council will meet this afternoon for their noon work session and then hold their regular session at 7 p.m. at the Elizabethtown Municipal Building.

Tonight, the board is expected to approve the minutes from the April 3 noon work session and the April 3 regular meeting then move into a set of presentations. The board is scheduled to receive a report from Twilla C. Allen, Regional Long-Term Care Ombudsman for Lumber River Council of Governments; AECOM is slated to make a presentation on water tank maintenance at the noon session; and the board will receive information regarding the FY 2017-18 proposed budget.

The board will also conduct three public hearings tonight. The first public hearing will address changes to the town’s code of ordinances regarding parades. In the second public hearing, Hilda J. Odom and Myrtle J. Wright will present a rezoning request for property on Cypress Street to be rezoned from CBD (Central Business District) to C-2 (General Commercial). In the third public hearing the board will hear a special use permit request from Andrew E. Robinson regarding his property at 404 Martin Luther King Drive.

The board will also consider a resolution for revisions to personnel policy, National Police Week and Older American Awareness Month.  The board will consider appointments to the Elizabethtown Airport and Economic Development Commission, Planning Board and ABC Commission.

The board is scheduled to consider an ECS Contract for Phase I Environmental Review of the West Broad Street Streetscape; leaf truck replacement proposal, a contract to relocate the existing terminal building at the airport, a budget amendment, a grant agreement for land acquisition at the airport, and the monthly financial report.

The board is also scheduled to enter into closed session for matters of client-attorney privilege, real estate and personnel.
