The Elizabethtown Town council will meet on Tuesday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chamber in the Elizabethtown Municipal Building.

The board is expected to conduct a public hearing for a rezoning request from Jewell Pritchard and Cathy Gantz for a property located at 1201 East Broad Street. They are asking to have the property rezoned from residential to commercial. Later in the meeting, the board will vote to approve or deny the rezoning request.

The board is also expected to consider a resolution honoring Virgie McKiver for her years of service to the Elizabethtown Housing Authority Board.

The board is also expected to consider to declare former police department uniforms as surplus property and to allow Police Chief Tony Parrish to donate them to the Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy.

The board will hear a request from Public Services to declare a Chevrolet Canyon pick-up truck as surplus property and allow it to be sold on Govdeals.com.

The board will hear a request to declare real property located on Glenwood Drive as surplus property to be sold.

The board is expected to adopt a resolution recognizing Specialty Product Technologies for their 50th anniversary.

The board is expected to announce an appointment to the Elizabethtown Housing Authority and appoint a voting delegate to the NCLM conference in Raleigh.

The board will also consider tax releases, a budget amendment and hear the monthly financial report.
