Coleman Tatum and Evan Pait combined to pitch a no-hitter Wednesday night as the Braves defeated the Athletics 10-0 in the Elizabethtown Dixie Youth Baseball Majors Championship game.

Coleman Tatum pitched the first 3 innings and struck out four batters while walking seven. Pait struck out the side in his one scoreless inning of relief, but walked one batter.

The Braves jumped in front with a 5-run first inning. Pait dumped a blooper into centerfield, and Garrison Tatum and Ryan Johnson drew walks.

Walker Ward rapped a 2-run single through the middle, and Weston Hatcher belted another single to centerfield that scored 2 more runs. Lee Barnes drove in the final run of the inning with another single.

Coleman Tatum blasted a solo home run over the centerfield fence to pad the Braves lead to 6-0 in the second inning.

The Athletics loaded the bases in the third inning with two outs on walks to Tyler Johnson, Parker Greene and Elijah Monroe. Johnson was called out trying to steal home to end the inning.

Coleman Tatum reached on a fielder’s choice, and Pait belted a single in the Braves’ fourth inning. Garrison Tatum knocked in a run with a single, and another run scored as Ryan Johnson reached base on an error.

Ward reached on another error that scored a run, and Hatcher delivered a 2-run single to right-centerfield that ended the game on the mercy rule.

Hatcher batted 2-3 with 4 runs batted in. Coleman Tatum blasted the solo home run. Pait batted 2-3, and Barnes, Ward, and Garrison Tatum added one hit each.

Andrew Horne walked twice to lead the Athletics offense. Destin Montgomery, Ty Mathis, Tyler Johnson, Greene, Monroe and Anthony Cowan drew one walk each.

Mathis started and pitched 3.2 innings before reaching the pitch-count limit. Mathis struck out 7, walked 4 and allowed 5 hits.
