The Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club heard a presentation from the Boy Scouts Troop 622 this past week, gave them a check to help with the Boy Scout’s efforts, and accepted a new Kiwanis member.

Members of the Boy Scouts Troop gave a presentation about their achievements over the past year to the Kiwanis Club on Tuesday evening. The young scouts also shared an interesting presentation on Astronomy.

Boy Scouts leader, Alex Hursey, attended the meeting as well.  The local Kiwanis club presented the troop with a check to help continue with their charter for the year.

After the club heard from the young men, they started official business. The club inducted a new member. Johnny Anderson, from Bladenboro, Retired United States Navy Chief Petty Officer, and 3rd Vice Chair at N.C. Seventh Congressional District Democratic Party officially joined the club.
