Kiwanis plan fundraiser

Big plans are underway for the Elizabethtown Kiwanis Club to help make a difference in children’s lives and to assist in funding for the new Bladen County Emergency Services Training Facility.

The local club met on Tuesday evening and announced they will hold a fundraiser event on Saturday, August 6th 2016. Kiwanian, Johnny Anderson, reported Richard Bailey with Dublin Motor Speedway committed to letting the club host their fundraising event at his race track.

Anderson said, the track does have a race scheduled for the evening of the 6th, however, the fundraising event will take place from around 10 am until about 2 pm.

William Thompson, a fellow Kiwanian said he had entertainment locked in for the big day. The group discussed other items need to make the fundraiser a success.

Dr. Lisa Bryan, an officer of the club said the committee will continue to work out the details. Charlotte Smith, also on the fundraising committee will help get information out about the event as soon as it is available.

Jeff Futrell, Club President, said he was excited about the fundraising event and the opportunities it will bring.
