An Elizabethtown man has been charged with felony possession of marijuana after more than five pounds of the narcotic was found April 1 at a residence on Peanut Plant Road in Elizabethtown, according to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office.

Clifton Martin, 52, of the 900 block of M&M Street, was taken into custody after authorities found 5.2 pounds of marijuana at 919 Peanut Plant Road, the Sheriff’s Office said. A search of the residence was conducted by members of the Sheriff’s Office, Elizabethtown Police Department and Columbus County Sheriff’s Office.

Bladen County Chief Deputy Larry Guyton said the investigation is continuing and more arrests may be made.
