An Elizabethtown man who is wanted on an arson charge has been arrested in Robeson County. Brandon Malone is facing charges in connection to a fire that ocurred in apartment 5B at the Mercer Road Apartment complex.

According to Lt. D. Cheshire, with the Elizabethtown Police Department, Malone was arrested in Robeson County on outstanding warrants there. He is expected to be served with the warrants from the Elizabethtown Police Department once the charges in Robeson County have been processed.

Malone is facing charges of arson and two counts of attempted murder in connection with a fire which took place Sunday night at 700 Mercer Mill Road.

Sgt. Thompson, with the Elizabethtown Police Department, said the fire started in apartment 5B when Malone got into an argument with his girlfriend. Following the argument, Malone set a fire in the apartment with two minor children inside.

In Robeson County, Malone is charged with felony larceny and a criminal summons, according to court records. He is currently being held in the Robeson County Jail under a $11,000 bond.

No one was injured in the fire.
