On 08/29/15 Elizabethtown officers made a vehicle stop on S. Poplar St. The driver of the vehicle gave a fictitious name and officers noticed the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The officers ordered the three occupants out of the vehicle and a vehicle search was conducted.
Officers discovered a loaded .357 magnum revolver in the vehicle along with several counterfeit one and five dollar bills. A small amount of marijuana was also located on the person of Mary Elizabeth Jenrette.
The driver of the vehicle Keith Powell and passenger, Lorenzo White are convicted felons and both were charged with possession of a firearm by convicted felon.
Mptl. R. B. Yandle conducted the traffic stop.

Charges- Poss. Firearm by Felon (F), Poss. Counterfeit Currency (F),
Bond- $20,000
Over the past month Elizabethtown PD has taken several reports of counterfeit currency at businesses throughout the city. Merchants, please be aware of this and notify your employees to take note of the currency received throughout the business day.
We have seen denominations of hundreds, tens, fives, and most recently one dollar counterfeit bills. Our agency is working closely with the banks and businesses of this town as we continue to receive information about the origination of this counterfeit currency.
