The Elizbethtown Police Department is requesting the public’s assistance in identifing the person and vehicle in reference to a felony larceny investigation.  On January 24th, 2020 two males broke into a storage facility located behind a local business in Elizabethtown and stole approximately one hundred and twenty used automobile batteries, according to Detective Sgt. W. Thompson.

The two suspects loaded the batteries into a Uhaul truck and left the scene.  The two suspects committed the same offense at businesses in Shallotte, Clinton and Mt. Olive on the same day, according to the police report.

The investigating detective, Sgt. W. Thompson stated information has been obtained that the suspects are taking the batteries to businesses that recycle metals and other materials to receive payment.  Please contact Det. Sgt. W.
