Town Of ElizabethtownThe Elizabethtown Town Council will meet tonight (Monday, June 6) and discuss several matters as well as conduct a public hearing for the FY 2016-17 budget.

Cecil Marsh has requested to appear before he board to request additional handicap parking spaces to be located on Broad Street and Mayor Sylvia Campbell is expected to make a presentation to the Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy.

There are three public hearing scheduled. The first will be a public hearing the proposed FY 2016-17 budget, a second public hearing will address citizen participation plan for the town’s zoning rewrite, and a third public hearing will address a rezoning request.

The town will be asked to approve the budget ordinance and rezoning request.

The board will also discuss the inmate labor contract with the NC Department of Labor amendment No. 1, sewer account matter with Bud and Martha Lotz, approve sign proposal for Brown’s Landing at Lock and Dam No. 2, and consider appointments to the Elizabethtown ABC Commission and Airport Commission.

The board will also consider an agreement with Sage Design for design services for Tory Hole Park and an agreement with Sage Design for preparation of a Parks and Recreation Trust Fund Grant application for Greene’s Lake and Conservation Park.

The board will also consider an amendment to the Waste Industries contract and an amendment to the town’s customer service policy.

The board will consider a budget amendment and utility account releases.

The board will also be asked to set the date for the July meeting.
