Since the major presentation items were handled during the Noon Work Session, the Town Council made quick work of their administrative matters during the Monday evening business session.  Council approved additional Parade restrictions to help with safety issues during parades.  Children will be disappointed to learn that candy will no longer be allowed to be thrown from floats or vehicles during parades.
Other administrative items approved were the purchase of the Hutchison Property which includes 2 tracts on Swanzy and Pine Streets as well as  a tract across from the Farmer’s Market that will be used for overflow parking for events.  Council reappointed Fred Tate, Rich Glenn and Mac Campbell to the Airport/Economic Development Commission.  The State Revolving Loan Balance of $990,456.00 was approved for the Downtown Sewer Rehab Project.  Council approved the Basic Facts and Assurances document for submission to the PARTF application which will be used for the Greene’s Lake and Conservation Park.  A Crosswalk Sign Package was also approved for Lloyd Park.  The package includes safety features such as flashing lights and rumble strips to be installed on the street between Lloyd Park and Leinwand Park.
Mr. Cecil Marsh appeared before Council to make some suggestions regarding handicapped parking downtown as well as a request to make the benches in front of Town Hall more serviceable.
