The Elizabethtown Town Council will meet on Monday night in their regular session.

Elizabethtown Police Chief Tony Parrish will facilitate the swearing-in of three officers who have been promoted to sergeant positions in the department.

Also, the Council is requested to convene downtown following the noon work session to visit the proposed sites for handicapped parking spaces so a decision can be reached in the evening meeting.

The Council is expected to consider a special use permit for the construction of a Hardees restaurant at 213 S. Poplar Street.

The board is also set to hear a rezoning request by Anne Purdie and Maceo Purdie.

The board is anticipated to approve a surplus property request by the Elizabethtown Fire Department.

The Council will hear the Unpaid Fiscal Years’ Tax Report and also be requested to issue an order for Tax Collection.

Under administrative matters, the board is expected to hear an update on a handicapped parking meter, set a date for the September meeting, and to hear the monthly financial report.
