Elizabethtown Town Council met in regular session Monday, July 6, 2015. Phil Geary, made a presentation to update Council on Bladen County’s Comprehensive Transportation Plan, a drafted needs plan of all methods of transportation for the county and Town projected to 2040. The projects are prioritized based on the identified needs from the CTP. To view the maps and learn more about the plan go to tinyurl.com/BladenCTP .

Council approved two resolutions regarding employee policies. The first was a Health & Fitness Membership requirement Policy (minimum of 6 times per month for the Town to pay half of the fee). In addition, Council approved the Administrative Services Agreement as presented and approved the Flexible Health Spending Account for Employees.

In administrative matters, Council approved the Grant Agreement with the Golden Leaf Foundation ($197,000); an amendment to the Customer Service Policy for the Utilities Department was approved; approved the proposals received from Merritt Brothers Construction and Chris White for the soccer field and skate park work behind Town Hall (PARTF Grant funding); and approved a Façade Grant for Mary’s Natural Hair Care Salon located at 603 Martin Luther King Drive.
Council moved into Closed Session to discuss real estate at 2603 West Broad Street and Elizabethtown Industrial Park.
