The Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce lunch was held this past Tuesday. The lunch held a different agenda for December. Instead of one guest speaker, professionals in attendance were allowed to share what products and services they offer.

Ashley Dowless with Cape Fear Valley-Bladen County Hospital said, “It was great! Everyone was allowed to stand and tell others about what services they offer. We were able to hear what kind of goals and plans other businesses have as well.”

“It was good for me to hear from everybody,” Terri Dennison, the Chamber Executive Director stated. “I learned about awards and special recognitions our local businesses have gained recently.”

The White Lake Marine announced at the meeting they placed in the “Top 100” of boat dealerships in North America for the third time.

“These are the things we need to hear about and help promote. If we help promote each other, everyone wins,” Dennison said.

Dennison said she was glad the Chamber was able to assist with ribbon cuttings. Front Porch Party Rentals held a ribbon cutting on December 5 for their new showroom located at 1200 W. Swanzy Street in Elizabethtown.

Bladen Cleaners located at 203 B. South Poplar Street in Elizabethtown also recently held a ribbon cutting hosted by the Chamber.

Before the month ends the Chamber also agreed to assist in the celebration of Cape Fear Heating & Cooling, LLC and BladenOnline’s ribbon cutting ceremony scheduled for Monday, December 30 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at 1110 S. Poplar Street in Elizabethtown.

The Chamber already has a guest speakers scheduled for their lunch meeting for the months of January and February. Chuck Heustess is on tab to talk about Bladen County Economic Development during the first meeting of the new year held on the second Tuesday in January.

Then in February, a representative from Our State Magazine is scheduled to speak. Dennison explained she is trying to have speakers scheduled a month or two in advance for the monthly lunch meetings. Anyone wanting to suggest a guest speaker may email tdennison@elizabethtownnc.org.

The Chamber lunch meetings are scheduled for the second Tuesday of each month at the Cape Fear Farmer’s Market in Elizabethtown unless changes are announced.
