Greg Conner, a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, will explain how Elizabethtown was a crucial battleground in the Revolutionary War during the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber of Commerce’s monthly meeting March 21.

The breakfast meeting will begin at 8 a.m. at Cape Fear Farmers Market, 106 MLK Drive, in Elizabethtown.

Following Conner’s presentation, members of the 250th Anniversary of Elizabethtown committee will outline future events and activities and discuss how business owners can participate in the festivities.

The year-long 250th anniversary celebration kicked off on March 4 with an opening ceremony that included the history of Bladen County and Elizabethtown and traditional Celtic music.

Other 250th anniversary events include:
• Saturday, May 6, years 1824-1873.
• Saturday, July 8, years 1874-1923.
• Saturday, September 23, years 1924-1974.
• Saturday, November 4, in conjunction with Pork & Beats, the last 50 years.
