VACATION VITTLES AND YOUTH AMBASSADOR PROGRAM

Men and Women United for Youth & Families, CDC, is excited to introduce its local youth and farmer-supported Vacation Vittles and Youth Ambassador Programs. The youth have partnered with local farmers to provide local, fresh, healthy produce every week. Primary venues are the Elizabethtown and Whiteville Farmers’ Markets, a Pop-up Market at Graham Chapel AME Zion Church in Riegelwood, and Beach Resorts.

Another option is the purchase of prepared bags full of fresh produce collected from the farmers, packaged and delivered by the youth. The organization is looking to expand farmers’ market traffic and customer base of weekly bag orders. The cost of these insulated and reusable bags is $45. Each bag contains 10 to 12 pounds of fresh produce. Orders can be placed by calling 910-655-3811 or Randolph Keaton at 910-431-2260. Stop by the Farmer’s Market on Fridays from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. to say hello.
