Ready, set, shop! Terri Dennison with the Elizabethtown-White Lake Area Chamber Commerce announced the merchants in downtown Elizabethtown will start the Annual Fourth of July Sidewalk Sales on Wednesday, July 1. The sales will last through Wednesday, July 8.

Although social distancing and masks are required due to the COVID-19 pandemic local business owners are hopeful for a successful event. The local shops have an array of bargains waiting to greet shoppers this week for the annual sale. The sidewalk sale is an annual event enjoyed by merchants, visitors and residents alike.

Spring merchandise as well as new summer arrivals will be available to choose from at several different stores.

Even though the Fourth of July Fireworks display usually scheduled for July 4th at Goldston’s Beach at White Lake has been canceled due to COVID-19 business owners and citizens are encouraged to celebrate the holiday in a different way. The Chamber of Commerce and BladenOnline is asking all of Bladen County to put up lights and create a festival of lights to celebrate freedom this holiday weekend. See full story.
