The Open House or Emerau:Bladen Charter School will continue on Saturday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at their office located at 118 West Broad Street. The school is slated to open in August 2017 as a K-6 school and will add one grade per year.The Open House will afford perspective parents an opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the school, the draft school calendar, and its curriculum. The school plans to follow the North Carolina Standard Course of Study but it will be extended with the inclusion of the Core Knowledge curriculum. The science and math curriculum will also be extended with the addition of a curriculum called Maker Space.
The Emerau:Bladen Board has chosen a 26 acre tract of land for the school located between NC 87 and Airport Road. Capital Advantage for Education recommended the location at the board’s October meting. The board is in the “due diligence” phase of the purchase now. 
A ribbon cutting and Open House were held for the school on Friday afternoon.
