EMEREAU: BLADEN ANNOUNCES 2017-2018 FACULTY AND LEADERSHIP

 Emereau: Bladen Charter School will open its doors to students in

Kindergarten through Sixth Grade for the 2017-2018 school year on August 1, 2017.

The Emereau Foundation, Inc. is pleased to announce the selection of the Dean of Operations and Dean of Academic Engagement for the 2017-2018 school year. Lillian Bryant will join Emereau as the Dean of Operations.  Mrs. Bryant brings her experience as a leader and educator to Emereau having served as Executive Director of Bladen Smart Start from 2003-2014 and Bladen Smart Start Consultant through 2015.  Additionally, Mrs. Bryant’s experiences include implementing Delaware’s Adult Education programs as the Delaware Family Literacy State Coordinator; representing Pembroke University as an Admissions Counselor; and preparing high school students for careers as a School to Work Coordinator with the Department of Labor.  Bryant’s expertise will be evident throughout the daily operations as Emereau builds student, family, and community partnerships to further enhance the learning environment.

 

Polly Hancock will join Emereau as the Dean of Academic Initiatives and Fifth Grade Classroom Teacher. Mrs. Hancock received her undergraduate degree from Meredith College and holds National Board Certification as an Early Childhood Generalist. Consistently recognized as a Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Hancock will share her expertise as an exemplary classroom teacher in meeting and exceeding academic goals.  Under her direction, Emereau Initiatives, including the Project Learning Tree curriculum, will become an integral component of the learning environment.

 

Emereau will provide a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum for students with the goal of a one hundred percent graduation rate leading to undergraduate collegiate opportunities. The school’s purpose is to develop a public charter school of choice which provides an exemplary educational environment for all children.
